How did you hear about Money Bootcamp?

I was a part of a business group. I noticed her name a lot because the people in the group always referred to Denise as the authority on money mindset. I started to get really curious about her, so I read her book and loved it.

From there, I dived into the podcast and was ready for Money Boot Camp not long after. I get it now, why everyone was so obsessed with her money mindset teachings. She really knows what she is talking about.

What’s it like working with Denise?

She’s so real. The Denise inside of Money Bootcamp is the same Denise you get to know on the podcast – she just goes deeper into working things through. I like how relaxed she is, as well.

What was your money situation when you joined Money Bootcamp?

I am an accumulator, so I always felt like I was pretty good with money. I was always the kind of person to make a budget and go out of their way to have plenty of savings on hand. But, I recognize now that this comes from growing up seeing my parents struggle to make ends meet.

It’s the reason I work so hard to protect myself and provide for my child. I don’t ever want to go through what I went through as a kid again. I’ve also realized that it’s the reason I chose to only have one child because of the financial pressure of bringing up a larger family.

How has Money Bootcamp helped your life and business?

There is so much to celebrate for me since joining Money Bootcamp. I went through a divorce recently and felt the support of the community come around me when I was making the financial choices associated with that life change.

2021 was also my first 100k year in my business. That was such a big milestone for me and I was absolutely thrilled. It was also my first year working full time for myself, as well.

I lost my job in 2020 because of the pandemic, so it was really a sink or swim situation. And Money Bootcamp set me up to succeed. I seriously could not have done it without the support of the community.

“I get to do so many fun things now because of the success of my business, like taking my son traveling in Europe for two weeks – just because.”

How has your first year in Money Bootcamp been?

My time in Money Bootcamp has given me such a sense of calm. I can use the money I earn now to live an easier life. I can take care of my son and not have to worry about it. I am not stressed. It’s amazing. I think a lot of people have these growth goals where they are always looking for the next milestone, but that’s not me right now.

Money Bootcamp taught me it’s okay to take your foot off the accelerator to take a look around and just enjoy how far you’ve already come.
